Crossplay word generator and unscrambler
Crossplay unscramble in one step: enter the letters on your tray and the word finder, also called a word generator or word maker, lists every word you can make with them, grouped by length and ordered by points. Points use Crossplay tile values, so a word with G, K, V or W ranks higher here than it would in a Scrabble word finder. A blank (?) can stand for any letter and scores zero.
Use the filters when you need a word that fits a spot on the board: Starts with for a hook at the front, Ends with to build onto a letter, Contains for a letter you want to play through. Filter letters do not have to be on your tray. To find the exact best placement on your board, including bonus squares and crossing words, use the Crossplay helper, which works as a full board solver.
Holding a Q, Z, J or X? The list of Crossplay words with Q, Z, J and X shows the short words that use them, including Q words without U.
Word finder scores are face value
The points shown here are the sum of the tile values only. On the board, bonus squares, crossing words and the 40-point sweep can change a word's score a lot. See the Crossplay letter values and board for how the bonuses are laid out.
About the word list. This site uses the public-domain ENABLE word list, compiled by Alan Beale and M. Leo Cooper. We keep words with 2–15 letters and apply our existing offensive-word filter. All 96 two-letter entries also come from ENABLE. Our list may accept words that Crossplay rejects or omit words that the game accepts. The game itself always has the final say.
Crossplay word finder: common questions
How many letters can I enter?
Up to 15. Your Crossplay tray holds seven tiles, but you can add board letters to see longer words.
How do I enter a blank tile?
Type a question mark. Words that use a blank show that letter in lowercase, and it adds no points.
Why are some words missing?
This site uses the public-domain ENABLE word list, whose entries can differ from the official game dictionary. The word checker searches the same ENABLE list.
